Lusaka, Zambia – November 2025
Zambia has concluded a pivotal five-day training course on the Integrated Framework for Electrification (IFE), marking a significant milestone in its efforts to achieve universal access to electricity. Held from November 3rd to 7th, the course brought together regulators, Ministry of Energy officials, and professionals from key institutions to explore practical, scalable solutions for expanding access to clean and affordable electricity.

The training was delivered through a partnership between the African School of Regulation (ASR) and Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), as part of the broader Mission 300 initiative, an ambitious effort to connect 300 million people in Africa to electricity by 2030.

The course was facilitated by a team of expert instructors, including:

  • Prof. Ignacio Pérez-Arriaga, Senior Advisor, ASR
  • Nicolás Larrañaga Lapique, Energy Access Officer, SEforALL
  • Nutifafa Fiasorgbor, Senior Training Associate, ASR
  • Santos José Díaz Pastor, External Associate, ASR
  • Daniella Ngarambe, Research Analyst, ASR

Participants engaged in:

  • Mastering regulatory principles for universal access
  • Applying the IFE to Zambia’s national context
  • Analyzing case studies and developing tailored action plans
  • Building a shared understanding of implementation challenges and opportunities

This course not only strengthened Zambia’s capacity to plan and regulate electrification efforts but also laid the groundwork for future collaboration and action. It reflects the country’s commitment to inclusive energy development and its role in advancing the continent-wide Mission 300 goal.
