The African School of Regulation is offering 10 scholarships to qualified, motivated early- or mid-career energy professionals who wish to participate in the New Approaches to Accelerate the Universal Adoption of Clean Cooking course.  

Who Should Apply?

These scholarships are intended for individuals committed to advancing the development of Africa’s clean cooking sub-sector. Early and mid-career professionals from the following sectors are encouraged to apply: 

  • Regulatory authorities. 
  • Ministries and government agencies. 
  • Power utilities. 
  • Academia. 
  • Investors. 
  • Development organizations. 
  • Consultants. 
  • Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) 

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the ASR Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of an African country.
  • Have a background in the energy, regulatory, or related sectors. A master’s degree in a relevant field with at least 1 year of experience is required. A bachelor’s degree may be considered with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Be currently working in the African energy sector (engagement with communities will be valued)  
  • Demonstrate financial need and a commitment to apply the knowledge gained within their local context.
  • Commit to the full online program, including weekly live classes, online discussions, and the quizzes.

Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee. Scholarships will be awarded based on:

  • Financial need.
