The African School of Regulation (ASR) is offering ten scholarships for qualified and motivated early and mid-career energy professionals to participate in the Réglementation du secteur de l'électricité en Afrique cours
Applications are open from 5 October to 1 November 2026. The scholarships support professionals who are committed to applying their learning to the development of Africa’s energy sector.
What does the scholarship cover?
The scholarship covers only the online component of the course. The optional one-week in-person component is not covered. Applicants interested in attending the in-person week are encouraged to explore additional funding sources.
Who should apply?
Early and mid-career professionals working in regulatory authorities, ministries and government agencies, power utilities, and academia are encouraged to apply.
To be eligible, applicants must:

- Be currently working in the African energy sector.
- Have a background in energy, regulation, or a related field, with a relevant master’s degree and at least three years of professional experience. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree may be considered if they have at least five years of professional experience.
- Demonstrate financial need and a commitment to applying the knowledge gained in their local context.
- Commit to the full online programme, including weekly live classes, online discussions, weekly assignments, and the final report.

How will applicants be selected?
Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee. Selection will consider alignment between the applicant’s motivation and the course objectives, demonstrated commitment to improving Africa’s energy sector, and financial need.

Applicants who are not awarded a scholarship can still benefit from the 10% early-bird discount by completing their course registration by 18 December 2026.
