We are thrilled to announce that ASR has received significant recognition and continued support from The Rockefeller Foundation, which has committed an additional $3 million to help establish the African School of Regulation (ASR) as a leading hub for energy regulation and policy across Africa. This follows the initial $1 million investment during the 2023 Africa Climate Summit, marking a significant milestone in our journey.

With this new funding, ASR is set to expand its work promoting sustainable, reliable, and affordable energy access across the continent through capacity building. Based in Accra, Ghana, ASR continues to incubate at the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) and collaborate with a diverse network of global and regional partners.

Dr. Frederick Nyang, Director of ASR, shared:

“We are delighted to secure support for the second phase of ASR’s development, which will focus on establishing ASR as a recognized centre of excellence for energy policy and regulation. We aim to deliver continent-wide reach for our activities, focused on research and training that enhance the regulatory environment, foster innovation, and support the transition to sustainable energy systems.”

This continued support underscores the importance of ASR’s work in shaping Africa’s energy future through capacity building, innovative research, and impactful policy training.
