On October 14, 2025, the African School of Regulation (ASR), led by Director Dr. Abdulkadir Shettima, paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) in Accra. The ASR delegation was warmly received by WASCAL’s Executive Director, Prof. Emmanuel Wendsongre Ramde, Capacity Building Director, Prof. Kone Daouda, and their team.

The visit evolved into a highly productive strategic discussion, during which both institutions explored avenues for collaboration in capacity building, applied research, and joint initiatives, including webinars, conferences, and short courses on climate change and energy regulation.

Both parties expressed a strong interest in formalising the partnership. As a next step, they proposed the establishment of a Working Group (WG) to develop a roadmap outlining the scope, objectives, and implementation framework for future collaboration to benefit West African countries and beyond.
