3- Day Online Conference
The African School of Regulation, in collaboration with the International Solar Alliance, hosted a three-day international online conference examining how regulation can support the deployment and integration of solar electricity generation across African power sectors at scale and through sustainable models.
Discussions covered utility-scale solar power plants, distributed grid-connected solar resources and off-grid solutions, with particular emphasis on utility-scale projects.
Context
Africa’s abundant solar resources offer significant opportunities to expand electricity access and support economic development. Realising this potential requires regulatory frameworks that attract investment, support sustainable business models and enable solar generation to integrate into power systems.
The conference explored the role of regulation in addressing these challenges and creating greater confidence among developers, financiers, and utilities.
