The African School of Regulation (ASR) and the African Forum for Utility Regulators (AFUR) hosted a webinar on Tariff Determination Techniques and Subsidy Design in Utility Regulation.

The session explored how regulators and policymakers could design tariff frameworks that balanced cost recovery, affordability, and investment sustainability. It also examined practical approaches to subsidy design that promoted equity and protected vulnerable consumers, while ensuring the financial health of utilities.

Participants gained actionable insights from experts and regulators on developing transparent, effective, and context-appropriate regulatory mechanisms for Africa’s evolving power sector.
